About

I have been an avid book reader from a very young age. I developed a keen interest in reading more than 2 decades ago. I still remember the days when my mother used to bring copies of Nandan/Champak/Chandamama for me every month :-) My mother herself is a lover of classic Hindi literature & she passed on this habit to me. So, I was exposed to the magical work of Premchand Ji & other Indian authors right from an early age. As time progressed, I developed a habit of wanting to *read* anything while eating :-D If I don't get anything to read, I can't finish my meal. It doesn't necessarily have to be a book or magazine. Even if it is a note written on a crumpled piece of a paper, it would serve the purpose ;-)

I still have enough physical books & magazines at my home that I can start a very small library :-)
Lack of space & time stopped me from pursuing my hobby of reading. I went from being busy to super busy & there wasn't enough storage space to pack a ton of books. BUT it all changed one fine day when I discovered Project Guttenburg & re-discovered the joy of reading on my phone! Yes, my phone has a large screen & I totally loved it :-)

And then came the day when I was gifted a Kindle by someone special. This completely changed the way I was reading the books. I became an active user of Goodreads & in less than 2 years, I finished reading 30 books :-)

My blog The Pages Between Fingers is my attempt to spread this love & joy of reading to people who want to read but don't know how to start.

Book Review - Ivanhoe

Ivanhoe - Novel by Sir Walter Scott I have decided on this novel to be the first post on my blog. Why? You'd ask! Well, because I owned a physical copy of Ivanhoe when I was a kid & I loved it totally. It was my first ever encounter with a novel which had a European background. That book was in my mother tongue i.e. Hindi & while it was not the best translation, I still enjoyed reading it as a kid. And I still have this copy with me! Fast forward a few years & I was gifted a Kindle reader. Without involving too many personal details, all I will say is that this Kindle device is my most prized possession & I have fallen in love with reading even more because of it. So, I started searching for free books on Project Guttenburg & I came across Ivanhoe . I was thrilled!! The kid inside me got really excited & I downloaded the book straightaway :-) Who doesn't like free stuff, after all! My childhood memories were refreshed. It has been around 18

Wizard Will: The Wonder Worker - Book Review

Sometimes, we come across the books which are not immensely popular and it makes you feel hesitant to give that book a try. And then you end up not reading the book. The end result? You miss out on the opportunity to read one gem of a book! Wizard Will: The Wonder Worker is one such book. I had downloaded it many months ago but never decided to read. One fine day, while browsing through my collection of books in Kindle, I stumbled upon this book. I read the first few lines & I was totally mesmerised. I was literally coerced into the book. Even though I only read the first chapter that day, I finished the whole book in just 2 days! Wizard Will: The Wonder Worker is one of the most cohesive novels I have ever read. Its story is quite gripping & the plots are so well interwoven. There is not a single dull in the whole book. It is the kind of book that keeps you glued from start to end. It makes you curious about what is going to happen in the next chapter. About t
